SIFF Film Center *

Seattle, WA

*work completed while at ORA

Tom Mulica was the design lead for the new home of the Seattle International Film Festival. The project re-purposed a historic Paul Thiry building at Seattle Center.  Built during the World's Fair, the modernist open plan of concrete and glass now houses a state of the art 110 seat theater along with the administrative offices and programs of SIFF. The Center, conceived of as a cinematic arts incubator, locates the theater at the center of the plan with its exterior color and lighting design highlighting its importance while allowing staff offices and communal spaces to have prime views of Seattle Center through the expansive historic windows.
